Since you've been gone..

It's funny how life has a way of showing us that every exit is an entrance to something else. I went from trying to learn how to breathe again without Josh, to having a really happy life. Once I started letting people into my life who truly loved and cared about me, amazing things started to happen for me. I feel like I have a TON to catch everyone up on!! First things first, I WON A GOLDEN BOX FROM JULEP!!!! more on that later, because it is really a post in its own haha! But look at all my goodies that I won :) ^^^
Secondly, I started dating my best friend, Ryan. I introduced him a little bit in my previous blog post. Him and I have been best friends for what feels like forever. He has always been there for me through thick and thin without question or hesitation. It was difficult for me to let him into my closed off world after everything that happened with Josh, but I thought, you know what, forget Josh, move on and be happy..And that's just what I did, and you know what? I could not be more happy then where I am right now in my life. Letting Ryan is has got to be the best thing that I have ever done for myself. The picture above is of us on our latest trip to Miami this past weekend, we had a blast!
And, to get in the mood for Miami, naturally I had to paint my nails in the most awesome neon pink I could find. My local Bed, Bath and Beyond started carrying small Color Club polishes and I am THRILLED about that!! I picked up a few recently, and this one is Jackie O. I used three coats to make this polish super thick and amazing. I topped it off with a coat of SV. I absolutely adore this color, and the best part is, it didnt chip at all! AT ALL. And I did some crazy things in South Beach! Verdict: I love this color! and Color Club remains my top top top nail polish choice. Hands down.
Look at how it glows!!!!
Lastly, while in Miami Ryan made it one of our missions to get me new nail polish that I haven't seen before, or that I couldn't get closer to where we live. We wandered into American Apparel, and I found these three beauties!!! I loveeee them!!! I can't wait to swatch them for you guys :) of course, Ryan bought me all three because he's the best!!

That's all I have for you guys on my short short recap of whats been going on. In my absence I did do a ton of manis and I will post all about them soon!! Missed you all!

Enchanted to meet you Pink Wednesday

Inspired by Taylor Swift (yes for the second time this week!!) I am presenting my Enchanted to meet you mani. Josh and I had a cute conversation the other day, about the first time we met each other. It's an ironic story and I won't go into detail but basically we talked, for a long time, and I knew that I loved him after that very first conversation, and turns out he confessed to feeling the same. Ha! And I know it's true since he mentioned it first :)

Anyway, so I used 2 coats of Ulta's Material Girl, for my accent finger, I used one coat of CG Snow Cap-because it's sparkley and pretty. I topped my mani off with 2 coats of SV. The Ulta polish is extremely glittery and I like that about it. It's very feminine, but also professional. I give this polish a thumbs up!
In closing, I love this mani I think it looks super cute. This was my first time using my Ulta polish and it was a little bit thick, and a bit messy because of it.

He gives me butterflies Pink Wednesday

Yesterday at Ulta, something amazing happened. For their 21 days of beauty, they were having a huge sale on Butter London nail polishes: Buy one get one FREE!!! Ok, so I always wanted to try these polishes, but couldn't justify spending $14 per bottle for one. AND I had a $3.50 off coupon for purchases of $10.00 or more..So that being said, I took Josh to the dentist yesterday and while he was getting worked on, I snuck off to Ulta...where I bought two bottles. I thought I had satisfied my polish addiction lol. One color I picked was purely on the name "La Moss" I wasn't sure how I would like the color, but didn't really care. ha! So for pink Wednesday I decided to go for a vintage traveling circus inspired theme :)
I decided to use my good ol' Katy Perry Black Shatter from OPI on my thumb, over three coats of Butter London Queen Vic. I was a little disappointed in the quality of the Butter polishes, they were extremely thin :( I did three coats on my mani, and probably could have used a 4th. I like having my accent nail being my thumb for once :) it's cute in my opinion!
I stamped the butterfly pattern on my nails with one of my BM plates :) using Butter London La Moss! and I actually really really love the rich vintage red color :)
The polishes I used for my mani :) OPI black shatter, Butter Queen Vic, Butter La Moss.
AND my fabulous Ulta haul (I had to go back later that night and score two more bottles!) I got Toff, Wallis Queen Vic, and La Moss..

Josh is working a double, so I won't see his face until Friday night! Sad, but at least I get to squeeze in some time to do "me" things, like spend a ridiculous amount of time looking through my polishes, and cleaning up the mess afterward! ha :)

EMS Nails for Pink Wednesday

I was studying for my EMT test last night, and was getting distracted by my nails and realized I needed to take a break from studying and change my polish! :) Since Josh is a paramedic, I was definitely in the EMS mood! I got my inspiration for this mani while surfing the web a little while ago, I wish I still had the inspiration picture so I could credit the artist! :( Anyway, I used two coats of Color Clubs black holo Revvvolution, and then painted the EKG heart beat on my nails, because my boy gives me a humming bird heartbeat! Painting the beat took a decent amount of time since I used a tooth pick to do it lol
And since there was no way I could repeat the process on my right hand using my useless left hand, I opted to try another of my new Kleancolor Holos, Chunk Holo Black :) I topped both hands off with a coat of SV, as you can see in the picture above the SV did cause a bit of srhinkage :(
Here are the polishes I used in all their glory :)
Then, I made a pit stop at walmart on my way home from my man's house, and of course had to look at their polishes, where I picked up these two beauties purely based on their names:
Rescue Me and Siren. Yea, my boy has me in an EMS mood <3

Pink Wednesday & Cotton Candy Feelings

It's Wednesday!!!
My variation for pink Wednesday this week, is brought to you by my girly in love heart haha! I literally have felt like the biggest dreamer the past few days, its funny how boys can do that to a girl! Anyway! So here is my fun Pink Wednesday mani :)
This was my first time experimenting with the Sally Hansen nail art pen, which I found annoying to use at first. Since it was new the polish wasn't flowing out thick, and I had to go over the designs a few times before they even became opaque. It was quite discouraging and also caused some flooding in the designs. :( I added some Swarovski rhinestones for sparkle...and quite frankly because there was absolutely no way I could hand paint little designs using my left hand!
So my right hand just got a ton of different bling added to it :P But I do love the contrast between the two hands, my left hand is all girly and drawn and my right hand is just like a rock star lol Reminds me of Taylor Swift a bit!
Here's everything that was used (SV isn't pictured) Sinful Colors Pink Forever; Orly pink glitter (no name); OPI Princesses Rule; Essence You Belong To me; Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in white
I actually met up with my friend Jess at Starbucks and we caught up on life and she watched me paint my nails lol
She captured the moment for all you guys :) haha, we definitely left Starbucks smelling like a nail salon, whoopsies!
The work space haha I love spending time with good friends and nail polish! And after our lovely time at Starbucks I got to meet up with my man for a perfect end to my evening <3

Pink Wednesday Almond Kiss Cookies

A few days ago I posted about hanging out with my good friend Nia, and how we baked cookies to help me make a good impression on my mans family. Let me tell you, making a good impression to Josh's family was very very important to me. I really wanted to gain their approval, and happiness for Josh over our budding relationship :) To accomplish this...Nia and I baked one hell of a batch of cookies!!
We looked through a new cookie book that I picked up at Michaels that has all the top Taste of Home cookie recipes in it. We decided on the Almond Kiss Cookies, because they looked elegant but would also appeal to a variety of taste buds :) There's Nia above, getting ready to bake up a storm!
I think our finished cookies look exactly like the image in the book! haha :) His family really enjoyed the cookies, at least they said they liked them, at least if they didn't they were kind enough to save my feelings :)
Here's us mid-cookie progress, taking a break from watching Walk The Line (we LOVE Joaquin Phoenix!) The dough had to chill for an hour, and in this time we thought we would clean out some old polish bottles to make some Franken polishes for our next hang out date! It was a funny disaster, polish ended up spilling ALL over my kitchen, and my pretty mani that I created for Josh's family, I was so upset that my mani was destroyed that I didn't notice the bright red nail polish staining the sink hahaha, Nia was swift to action and nail polish removered all the spills :)
We had to unwrap each Hershey Kiss individually, and ate all the ones that weren't perfect, only the best for my mans family!! haha, We definitely had an awesome time baking, and best yet Nia also loves nail polish!!! We are going to start doing a weekly partner blog post about our polishes :P Stay on the look out for it!

Pink Wednesday & the L Word

It's Wednesday! That means pink polish :) and a chance to try out my new pretties!!! I used 4coats of Color Club Vintage Couture, it is a very sheer pigment, and it took about 4 coats to get all the brush strokes out.. I topped it with two coats of the new Wen n-Wild Hannah Pinktana, which is a really soft small holo. and I LOVE IT! I tried to capture the sparkle in the polish in the picture above (sorry for the yellowish tone to the photographs tonight, my camera was having a hard time with my white focus :( )
Here's the pink dynamic duo! I love the way Hannah Pinktana went on, it was extremely creamy, and it put a nice even coat of the holo on each nail :) I'm pleasantly pleased with this polish!! I can't wait to go back to Walgreens and pick up the rest of this new collection :)
Here's just a comparison picture of the plain Color Club polished nails vs. the wet n' wild holo coated nails. I tried to get a good image to show just how awesome the Hannah Pinktana polish is! I stamped my nails using Kleancolor Metallic Black and my BM cheetah print plate!

I know you guys probably think I am insane for posting this blog at 2 in the morning, knowing that I have to be up at 6:30, for a full day of internship/emt work until 10pm. But, awesome things have been happening in my life. I've spent some amazing quality time with my friend Nia...which I PROMISE to blog about tomorrow, or Thursday as soon as I have the time! But also, I've been spending great time with Josh. As you guys read I met his family on Monday and it was spectacular. I really enjoyed their company and his mom cooked an amazing meal! Since his birthday is on Friday we also did a small celebration with birthday cake :) This boy definitely has me swooning. <3

The collection

I decided that it was time for me to take a good look at my collection of polishes! I sorted them all by color, which was extremely fun to do haha! I'm going to post a few of my color collections throughout my next few blog posts :)
This is what my collection looked like when I first poured it out...a mess! I counted and I believe that I have a total of 108 polishes in that pile! :) It's slowly growing!
here are my favorites, the pinks! I have 18 pinks, and I loveeee them all!
