Julep Golden Box

So! I completely forgot to blog about the awesome day that I won a Julep Maven Golden Box! If you'll sit right down, I will tell you about that fateful day! Every month Julep (Click Here to Become a Maven ) sends their Mavens an email letting them know what they can expect in their Maven Box for that month, For the previous few months I had been skipping my Maven Boxes, I was getting a little tired of the collections, I'll admit it. BUT this month, after opening up my email, I decided that I might as well go for the month since there was a chance of winning a Golden Box! A Golden Box is a box filled with the ENTIRE collection of Maven material for that month! (If you are unfamiliar with the Maven system, there are a few different styles of boxes and after taking a short quick Julep will name you a Maven type-  I was named American Beauty. ANYWAY! So, about a week later, I get home from work and to my surprise, see a GOLDEN BOX waiting for me in my room! I totally freaked! I NEVER win anything! And here I was winning a collection worth about $200! WOW! In my box was 11 Julep nail polishes, a cute nail file and a bottle of Julep Elixir. I was, and still am so thrilled that I was chosen as a winner!
Left: Portia, a beautiful sky blue jelly with blue holographic sparkle; Right: Emma, a beautiful pale pink jelly.
Left: Jennifer, a lovely sheer pink polish; Right: Jodie, an awesome deep red with gold shimmer
Left: Sophia, a lime green jelly with green holographic glitter; Right: Natasha, an awesome orange-y red creme.
Left: Brooke, a lovely lavender creme with shimmering purple glitter; Middle: Emma, a sheer pink shimmer; Right: Charlotte, the most perfect lavender creme
Left: Melissa, a daring opalescent shimmer that adds the perfect glow alone or as a top coat; Right: Alicia, the perfect pink coral creme
This stuff is Godly! I put two small drops on my hands every morning and my skin is soft like a baby's bottom!
YAY for nail files...unfortunately I hardly use them...whoops!

He gives me butterflies Pink Wednesday

Yesterday at Ulta, something amazing happened. For their 21 days of beauty, they were having a huge sale on Butter London nail polishes: Buy one get one FREE!!! Ok, so I always wanted to try these polishes, but couldn't justify spending $14 per bottle for one. AND I had a $3.50 off coupon for purchases of $10.00 or more..So that being said, I took Josh to the dentist yesterday and while he was getting worked on, I snuck off to Ulta...where I bought two bottles. I thought I had satisfied my polish addiction lol. One color I picked was purely on the name "La Moss" I wasn't sure how I would like the color, but didn't really care. ha! So for pink Wednesday I decided to go for a vintage traveling circus inspired theme :)
I decided to use my good ol' Katy Perry Black Shatter from OPI on my thumb, over three coats of Butter London Queen Vic. I was a little disappointed in the quality of the Butter polishes, they were extremely thin :( I did three coats on my mani, and probably could have used a 4th. I like having my accent nail being my thumb for once :) it's cute in my opinion!
I stamped the butterfly pattern on my nails with one of my BM plates :) using Butter London La Moss! and I actually really really love the rich vintage red color :)
The polishes I used for my mani :) OPI black shatter, Butter Queen Vic, Butter La Moss.
AND my fabulous Ulta haul (I had to go back later that night and score two more bottles!) I got Toff, Wallis Queen Vic, and La Moss..

Josh is working a double, so I won't see his face until Friday night! Sad, but at least I get to squeeze in some time to do "me" things, like spend a ridiculous amount of time looking through my polishes, and cleaning up the mess afterward! ha :)

How to: Stamp your nails

By reader request :) A quick picture tutorial on how to stamp your nails. Woohoo! So, first I put on 3 coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White.
I know its a little sloppy, but stamping in itself is a messy process :)
So, pick out the plate you'd like to use! I use Bundle Monster plates, and my Konad stamping system. Pictured above is the polish I chose to use for the stamping, my stamping plate, my stamper and my scrapper.
Step 1) cover the stamp you pick with your nail polish choice, it's generally best to use a deep opaque color that shows up vividly in one coat. I used Essence Just Rock it!
Using your scrapper, scrape off the nail polish, so what remains of the polish is stuck in the stamping plate etching.
Immediately roll your stamper through the nail polish so it picks up the design.
Then, roll the stamp out on your nails.
and Ta-da!! perfectly manicured nails :) As you can see from the above picture the stamp tends to get on your fingers, but its easy to clean off with some polish remover or warm water :)

Pink Wednesday & the L Word

It's Wednesday! That means pink polish :) and a chance to try out my new pretties!!! I used 4coats of Color Club Vintage Couture, it is a very sheer pigment, and it took about 4 coats to get all the brush strokes out.. I topped it with two coats of the new Wen n-Wild Hannah Pinktana, which is a really soft small holo. and I LOVE IT! I tried to capture the sparkle in the polish in the picture above (sorry for the yellowish tone to the photographs tonight, my camera was having a hard time with my white focus :( )
Here's the pink dynamic duo! I love the way Hannah Pinktana went on, it was extremely creamy, and it put a nice even coat of the holo on each nail :) I'm pleasantly pleased with this polish!! I can't wait to go back to Walgreens and pick up the rest of this new collection :)
Here's just a comparison picture of the plain Color Club polished nails vs. the wet n' wild holo coated nails. I tried to get a good image to show just how awesome the Hannah Pinktana polish is! I stamped my nails using Kleancolor Metallic Black and my BM cheetah print plate!

I know you guys probably think I am insane for posting this blog at 2 in the morning, knowing that I have to be up at 6:30, for a full day of internship/emt work until 10pm. But, awesome things have been happening in my life. I've spent some amazing quality time with my friend Nia...which I PROMISE to blog about tomorrow, or Thursday as soon as I have the time! But also, I've been spending great time with Josh. As you guys read I met his family on Monday and it was spectacular. I really enjoyed their company and his mom cooked an amazing meal! Since his birthday is on Friday we also did a small celebration with birthday cake :) This boy definitely has me swooning. <3

the Revvvolution is mine!

*Squee!* I have exciting news for you all....today, I got my hands on Color Club Revvvolution!!! I could hardly believe it when i found it on the shelf in the store! Its simply beautiful!! It goes on so thick and smoothly, that I don't ever want to use another nail polish in my life. Ok that's an over exaggeration haha, But I AM in love with this color! And since I can't leave my manis alone, I had to stamp it to make it super fancy :) I am meeting my boys parents tomorrow for the first time, so I had to have nails that made a good impression, I think I nailed it with this mani for sure!
Look at all the amazing rainbows in this polish!! It is a fantastic small holo, the best I've ever gotten my hands on. :) *drools*
So, I decided to do a quick comparison between Color Club Revvvolution and the Black Poppy polish I found at the mall..Honestly, when the two bottles were held side by side, I was leaning more toward Black Poppy, the holo glitter seemed to glow more!
However...when compared, Revvvolution (on the left) BLOWS Black Poppy (right) out of the water!! Look at how much thicker and holographic the polish truly is, sorry for the blurry picture I was trying to get more of the rainbow in than quality of the photograph :P
For my finished mani I used Color Club Revvvolution and stamped it with Nicole from the Justin Bieber collection, since it's a mini bottle it doesn't have a name printed on it, but it's perfect for stamping! I used BM-205 for the stamping :) Hope you guys like it!! And I hope his parents do too!! I have a ton I would love to blog about, from my exciting night with my friend Nia, but that will have to wait for tomorrow when I'll blog about our cookie baking experience, our Martha Stewartness, and the beginning of our Frankens!

Golden Tiger

I haven't stamped in what seems like FOREVER! So, I decided to remedy that! I started with my new Nicole by OPI polish Sea How Far You Go, which is a beautiful money green/golden color. I used three coats, then topped with a coat of SV.
I then used Sally Hansen X-Treme wear color in Black out to stamp the zebra print! I used the BM plate from the new collection, plate number 223 :)
