Boots and Boys Bandana Nails

Inspired by my redneck (and I mean that with all my love) of a boyfriend, and listening to Ke$ha's song Boots and Boys, I decided to go for a Southern girl bandana mani! :) I love the way it came out, I got a few compliments on it already, but mostly I like it because it reminds me of my man! ha!
I used two coats of OPI Suede in a bleu jeans color (the color tab fell off :( ) and Sinful Colors white to stamp! I finished the mani off with two coats of SV. I used my new Konad plate to stamp it :)

He just got a new off road bumper for it and he's pretty excited, also since this picture he's put a roof rack on it, and his mom and I agree that it looks like Nigel Thornberry's truck from the Wild Thornberrys! ha <3
Also, Josh came to my second grade class to talk to them about being a paramedic on Fire Safety Day on Thursday. For a writing activity, I had the students write about their favorite part of fire safety day, one of my students drew this picture of Josh, which I think is too adorable!!

Pink Wednesday & Cotton Candy Feelings

It's Wednesday!!!
My variation for pink Wednesday this week, is brought to you by my girly in love heart haha! I literally have felt like the biggest dreamer the past few days, its funny how boys can do that to a girl! Anyway! So here is my fun Pink Wednesday mani :)
This was my first time experimenting with the Sally Hansen nail art pen, which I found annoying to use at first. Since it was new the polish wasn't flowing out thick, and I had to go over the designs a few times before they even became opaque. It was quite discouraging and also caused some flooding in the designs. :( I added some Swarovski rhinestones for sparkle...and quite frankly because there was absolutely no way I could hand paint little designs using my left hand!
So my right hand just got a ton of different bling added to it :P But I do love the contrast between the two hands, my left hand is all girly and drawn and my right hand is just like a rock star lol Reminds me of Taylor Swift a bit!

I actually met up with my friend Jess at Starbucks and we caught up on life and she watched me paint my nails lol
She captured the moment for all you guys :) haha, we definitely left Starbucks smelling like a nail salon, whoopsies!

The work space haha I love spending time with good friends and nail polish! And after our lovely time at Starbucks I got to meet up with my man for a perfect end to my evening <3

How to: Stamp your nails

By reader request :) A quick picture tutorial on how to stamp your nails. Woohoo! So, first I put on 3 coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White.
I know its a little sloppy, but stamping in itself is a messy process :)
So, pick out the plate you'd like to use! I use Bundle Monster plates, and my Konad stamping system. Pictured above is the polish I chose to use for the stamping, my stamping plate, my stamper and my scrapper.
Step 1) cover the stamp you pick with your nail polish choice, it's generally best to use a deep opaque color that shows up vividly in one coat. I used Essence Just Rock it!
Using your scrapper, scrape off the nail polish, so what remains of the polish is stuck in the stamping plate etching.
Immediately roll your stamper through the nail polish so it picks up the design.
Then, roll the stamp out on your nails.
and Ta-da!! perfectly manicured nails :) As you can see from the above picture the stamp tends to get on your fingers, but its easy to clean off with some polish remover or warm water :)

80s for the Ladies

Every Wednesday at my favorite local place they have 80s for the Ladies, which is just a fun night of 80s music and amazing drinks!! To prepare for a night of flashback fever, my friend and I decided to be festive! So, I used Sinful's Cream Pink polish. It's a really beautiful pink with tiny tiny flecks on gold in it. I had to use 3 coats to get it to a nice thick coverage.

Then using Sinful's Snow Me White, I stamped my nails using the new bundle monster plate BM-203. I love the new BM collection, the full nail stamps are bigger and I just find the quality of the prints comes out much smoother. Don't mind the funkiness going on in some of the nails haha, painting names while drinking daiquiris was hard after a few! haha!

Lava Nails

I got to have a super fun girls night with my mom and puppy the other day since my dad went out of town! We took the opportunity to order chinese, watch Americas Next Top Model and paint our nails! I swatched my Sinful "Dream On" and I'll be honest, I hated it! It was a really thin forumul and it dried extremely matte for some reason. See the picture below, please excuse the messiness of the mani :P
So I seriously , seriously hated it...And felt that it was the perfect opportunity to try out my just arrived Nubar Polish in G188, and I LOVE IT!!! this polish is super fantastic! It was like painting lava on my nails, love love love it! I got it off of Amazon for around $8 shipped! Couldn't beat that!
Lots of new manis coming up!! In the process of switching over from my dell to my new macbook pro...and it's incredibly confusing!! <3

Wow!

I'm so sorry for my delay in updating! Things have been incredibly hectic between my semester in college ending, and my relationship with my boyfriend ending as well. I'm finally getting a chance to sit down and show you my pretty nails! I decided to make a fun solar system style mani for the past few days. I added the glitters on in slight layers to get the "rainbow" effect in the colors, best seen in the picture below of my thumb!
I started with 2 coats of sinful's "What's your name?" A fun black with hidden iridescent shimmer (I tried to capture it in the image below!)
Follow by a layer of Sinful's "Call you later" green glitter, then "Nail Junkie" topped with Sinful's "Hottie"

Summer Time Blues

I've been going to the beach often with my friends now that summer has arrived! Living in Florida has its perks :) In the spirit of my upcoming cruise to the Bahamas with the boy, I swatched my new Sinful Colors "Fly Away" polish! I'm loving the rich creamy pacific blue of this color. I applied 2 coats of SC and then one top coat of SV. I loveeee this color!

The funness of this color reminds me of summer time immediately :) Stay tuned for more swatches of my new sinful colors collection :)
