Julep Golden Box

So! I completely forgot to blog about the awesome day that I won a Julep Maven Golden Box! If you'll sit right down, I will tell you about that fateful day! Every month Julep (Click Here to Become a Maven ) sends their Mavens an email letting them know what they can expect in their Maven Box for that month, For the previous few months I had been skipping my Maven Boxes, I was getting a little tired of the collections, I'll admit it. BUT this month, after opening up my email, I decided that I might as well go for the month since there was a chance of winning a Golden Box! A Golden Box is a box filled with the ENTIRE collection of Maven material for that month! (If you are unfamiliar with the Maven system, there are a few different styles of boxes and after taking a short quick Julep will name you a Maven type-  I was named American Beauty. ANYWAY! So, about a week later, I get home from work and to my surprise, see a GOLDEN BOX waiting for me in my room! I totally freaked! I NEVER win anything! And here I was winning a collection worth about $200! WOW! In my box was 11 Julep nail polishes, a cute nail file and a bottle of Julep Elixir. I was, and still am so thrilled that I was chosen as a winner!
Left: Portia, a beautiful sky blue jelly with blue holographic sparkle; Right: Emma, a beautiful pale pink jelly.
Left: Jennifer, a lovely sheer pink polish; Right: Jodie, an awesome deep red with gold shimmer
Left: Sophia, a lime green jelly with green holographic glitter; Right: Natasha, an awesome orange-y red creme.
Left: Brooke, a lovely lavender creme with shimmering purple glitter; Middle: Emma, a sheer pink shimmer; Right: Charlotte, the most perfect lavender creme
Left: Melissa, a daring opalescent shimmer that adds the perfect glow alone or as a top coat; Right: Alicia, the perfect pink coral creme
This stuff is Godly! I put two small drops on my hands every morning and my skin is soft like a baby's bottom!
YAY for nail files...unfortunately I hardly use them...whoops!

Back With A Sparkle

Wowza! I can't believe how long it has been since I updated this blog-I am SO sorry guys! Life really caught up to me super fast, the end of the school year was insane and my students were keeping me on my toes! Besides keeping up with my 4th graders Ryan and I have been busy as well, we have spent way too much time having fun :) I will have to post about all our adventures super soon! In the mean time, he talked me into buying this GREEN glitter the other day when we were shopping at the mall! I picked it up at Forever 21.  I love when he picks out my polishes for me :) He has the best taste in colors hehe
So to do this amazing Green mani, I first used 2 coats of Wet n Wild's Sagreena the teenage witch, which in itself is a beautiful metalic green polish. Ryan really loved the color on its own, except I completely forgot to take a picture of it-ahh!
So, after I did my forest green base, I added two amazing full sparkle coats of Green from Forever 21! This glitter is amazing it has small round green glitters mixed with larger green hex glitter in the same shade. I simply love the rich green color of the glitter! I finished the mani with a coat of SV. This is probably one of my favorite manis to date :) In closing, I super promise to post a lot again! When my blog reaches 50 followers I plan on hosting a really awesome GIVEAWAY as well!!

Nails fit for dinner with the Boys Parents

Josh and I had a date to eat dinner with his family on Sunday, which of course always makes me nervous, when it shouldn't, but I can't help it. I love that boy and want his family to like me too :) Lucky, I took Josh to the Dentist earlier in the week and had the chance to browse through some magazines and by chance came across an interview with Essie Weingarten, the founder of Essie cosmetics. I wish I could remember which magazine it was in, but i read through sooo many waiting for him to finish with the doctor!!
Anyhoo, I know the article says "mother-in-law" but I took it's advice anyway because, well because it was sound advice. I had met Josh's family before, but I still want to do everything perfectly. Since Josh's step-mom is a super trendy lady, I took Essie's advice and went for a seasonal shade of polish, but amped it up a bit and made it almost a mock Burberry pattern. I loved this mani! I used Essence Irreplaceable as a base, and used 3 coats to get it to a nice opaque tone. I then used my new Konad plate and Butter London polish is Toff to do the stamping :) Finished it off with two coats of SV. You can sort of see in the picture above how the SV caused some shrinkage to my mani :(
I know you are dying to find out, but dinner went really well, like always. I love his family, they are incredibly nice people :)

Pink Wednesday & Cotton Candy Feelings

It's Wednesday!!!
My variation for pink Wednesday this week, is brought to you by my girly in love heart haha! I literally have felt like the biggest dreamer the past few days, its funny how boys can do that to a girl! Anyway! So here is my fun Pink Wednesday mani :)
This was my first time experimenting with the Sally Hansen nail art pen, which I found annoying to use at first. Since it was new the polish wasn't flowing out thick, and I had to go over the designs a few times before they even became opaque. It was quite discouraging and also caused some flooding in the designs. :( I added some Swarovski rhinestones for sparkle...and quite frankly because there was absolutely no way I could hand paint little designs using my left hand!
So my right hand just got a ton of different bling added to it :P But I do love the contrast between the two hands, my left hand is all girly and drawn and my right hand is just like a rock star lol Reminds me of Taylor Swift a bit!
Here's everything that was used (SV isn't pictured) Sinful Colors Pink Forever; Orly pink glitter (no name); OPI Princesses Rule; Essence You Belong To me; Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in white
I actually met up with my friend Jess at Starbucks and we caught up on life and she watched me paint my nails lol
She captured the moment for all you guys :) haha, we definitely left Starbucks smelling like a nail salon, whoopsies!
The work space haha I love spending time with good friends and nail polish! And after our lovely time at Starbucks I got to meet up with my man for a perfect end to my evening <3

Franken Polishes!

My semester is finally over!! Which means more time for posts! Tonight I had my absolute best friend over for a girls night!! Unsure of exactly what we wanted to do, we ventured to Ulta with our $5.00 off $10.00 or more coupon (heres the link to it!) We were looking at their deals on professional nail polish brands and could not find anything we were overly thrilled about....So We decided to make our own Franken polishes!!! We headed to the NYX section of Ulta (since its currently on sale buy 2 get 1 free) and picked out some pigments and glitters..then we hit up Essie for their 99 cent nailpolishes!

Here's our lot from Ulta! All this only cost us $11.27 Great deal :)

We created funnels out of scrap-paper to help put the pigments and glitter into the polish! Worked like a charm :) We watched Tangled and ate way too many snacks while creating haha.

Franked 1 modeled by my friend, Lisa! This is a combination of clear Essie nailpolish, NYX Ultra Pearl Mania (sorry the name got ripped off, but its a light turquoise blue!), and NYX Sparkling Glitter Powder in Summer Breeze. We called this one Mermaid!

Franken 2, modeled by me :) Clear Essie polish mixed with NYX ultra pearl mania in Grass Pearl and Sparkling Glitter Powder in Sour apple! I love the way this color turned out! It's so pearly and sparkley, I adore it! It also went on very smoothly.

My favorite Franken modeled by me, is amazing!!! We took clear Essie and added NYX Sparkling Glitter Powder in Disco Ball. This baby sparkles like diamonds..I'm actually still wearing it now, I should take another picture of what it looks like with two coats of SV over it...I can't stop staring at my nails with this polish on it! It is holographic but scattered not linear...But thats ok its gorgeous!

Another Franken made with olddddd Clear nail polish-I cant remember the brand off the top of my head and the bottle is across the room right now haha! I added NYX Ultra Pearl Mania in that forgotten blue color, and then added NYX Sparkling Glitter Powder in Sour Apple. This nail polish is to die for it! Its one of my new favorite colors of polishes :)

We made a few more Frankens but ran out of time for pictures :) I'll post them tomorrow! I'm also going to start posting swatches of my Sinful Colors polishes that I've been collecting thanks to the amazing Walgreens sale (99 cents!)
