Wish Upon A Star

I realized today that I have wayyyyy too many blues and purples in my nail polish collection. I can't seem to get away from them! These colors have tended to be my "go to colors" recently. Besides my mani, I have some fun exciting news to share, scroll to the bottom to read all about it!
Today I did my mani using part of my color club Starry Temptress collection, Other Worldly. I've never used this polish before, but this collection hasn't let me down yet!
Other Worldly is a beautiful neo blue with holographic sparkle throughout it. I used two coats for this mani, and I feel as if I could have opted for a third coat. It's a beautiful rich blue and I am a big fan :) I topped it with a coat of Starry Temptress which is a PHENOMENAL glitter top coat. This is my absolute favorite glitter TC to go to! It sparkles and shines and gets SO MUCH glitter onto your nails in one brush. Then of course, I coated this mani with 2 coats of SV for the awesome glass finish.
the dynamic duo. :)

Day 1: Red Nails

YAY! for the start of the 31 day Nail Challenge! Day 1 is red nails, now I didn't know what to do, I'm not really a "red" person, so I thought i would try a new nail technique. I used my SV base coat and painted two coats on my nails, then using the color club top coat, I painted a thick coat over the base coats and promptly shook red glitter all over my nails! I used Recollections ultra fine glitter in Cherry. :)
It was a bit of a messy process, so much extra glitter haha but i loved how glittery and sparkley this mani is!! Although, without a coat over the glitter, it liked to wipe off, and putting a top coat over it didn't work out too well...
But for the time, I really enjoyed this mani and it's a technique that I would definitely use again for a special occasion :)

Meet the Parents take 2 and Purple Birthday Nails

:) Josh is one of the lucky people who have two fantastic families. I was blessed to meet one side of them last Monday (I blogged about it!) and yesterday I was able to meet his other side! It was a grand family get together, with a ton of his aunts, uncles, grand parents and cousins. Everyone was so sweet!! So for the occasion I decided to paint my nails in happy southern girl colors :P I used two of my new polishes! I feel like the combination is similar to Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday in more muted tones :)

I used two coats of Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac, which is just the prettiest shade of lilac purple I've ever come across: (please excuse the messy paint job, i was in a hurry to get ready to meet up with Josh!)
I then added a few coats of NYC Starry Silver Glitter. I liked this polish a lot, but it was EXTREMELY difficult to get the large glitter out of the bottle or to stay on the nail when spreading it out. Putting on this top coat of glitter took me about 15 minutes :( I'll have to experiment with ways to get better results with the glitter next time!! I finished off the mani with 1 coat of SV.
I wore a sweet little Hollister sundress with these nails and it pulled together perfectly for the event!
And I know since I blog about him so much, you all would like to have a face to put to the name! Here's Josh and me on his Birthday on Friday :)
And here!!! are the delicious sugar cookie candy bars I made for his family's bbq! They were super yummy and everyone loved them!! Another fantastic recipe from my new cookie book :)

Polish Haul!!!

Jess and I hadn't had a girls date in awhile, we've both been busy the past week, and it's been a complete bummer! :( BUT! Today, after seeing Josh, I was in dire need of girl time. Jess and I were talking on facebook chat and I was like "I need to go nail polish shopping!" So off we went! We went to a local mall that neither of us had been to in awhile, and we had a blast-as usual-together! haha! Jess FINALLY got American Psycho (lol) and I picked up a copy of Signs (I love Joaquin Phoenix)..SO lets get to the polish!!
Polishes: (top row) Borghese mini polishes Confetti Collection; Hot Topic Glow In the Dark small Holo polish; Klean Color polishes in: Metallic Black, Holo Chrome, and Metallic Fuschia.

(Second row) E.L.F. Polishes in Twinkle, Golden Goddess, and Cranberry; the entire collection of my haul; part of the Color Club pack I found conataining: Space Case, Ultra-Astral, Wink Wink Tinkle, You Got Soul-ar, Glitter Envy, Otherworldly, Starry Tempress Topcoat.

(third row) Hot Topic glow in the dark holo glitter, the color club collection; and my favorite find of the day from Pac Sun Black Poppy (no polish name) with it an awesome black polish with small holo glitter in it!

Also not pictured in the collage above (oops!) is my last polish find, a mini pack of Color Club All About Color polishes:
Jess makes me laugh so hard, whenever I'm buying nail polish with her, she always tells the sales people "she has a blog" hahaha it's so funny. She works at Starbucks and isn't allowed to paint her nails, so when I was browsing polishes she pouts and goes "this makes me want to paint my...toe nails!" :) She's the best!

The collection

I decided that it was time for me to take a good look at my collection of polishes! I sorted them all by color, which was extremely fun to do haha! I'm going to post a few of my color collections throughout my next few blog posts :)
This is what my collection looked like when I first poured it out...a mess! I counted and I believe that I have a total of 108 polishes in that pile! :) It's slowly growing!
here are my favorites, the pinks! I have 18 pinks, and I loveeee them all!

Golden Tiger

I haven't stamped in what seems like FOREVER! So, I decided to remedy that! I started with my new Nicole by OPI polish Sea How Far You Go, which is a beautiful money green/golden color. I used three coats, then topped with a coat of SV.
I then used Sally Hansen X-Treme wear color in Black out to stamp the zebra print! I used the BM plate from the new collection, plate number 223 :)

Sugar Coated Pink Crackle

So, I was incredibly bored, which I was thoroughly enjoying (haha!) and couldn't decide how I wanted my nails to look :) I started off with two coats of OPI Princesses Rule! Which is a gorgeous powered pink sparkle polish, which was pretty...
....but I wasn't satisfied, so I then coated it with two coats of China Glaze White Cap which is an incredible iridescent sheer glitter...and still bored with the mani, I added OPI Black Shatter!
The winning trio!

Deborah Lippmann Dupe :)

Ok, so it's not really a dupe, more like creative layering! :) I used Essence "You Belong To me" Which is a really pretty cream sky blue, and layered Wet n'Wild "Party of Five Glitters" over it :) Completed the mani with 2 coats of SV!
What do you guys think? I personally adore this combination :)
